POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS DUE TO IMPACT OF ITCZ

Currently, the island is being impacted by the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), bringing showers and isolated thundershowers that we having been experiencing. This condition is expected to continue during the morning period.
Some slight improvement is expected during the late afternoon, but there exists the possibility of re-occurrence overnight.
Residents in flood prone areas are asked to take the necessary precautions.
The Inter Tropical Convergence Zone, or ITCZ, is a belt of low pressure which circles the Earth generally near the equator where the trade winds of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres come together. It is characterized by convective activity which generates often vigorous thunderstorms over large areas.
