BRITISH NATIONALS CAUGHT WITH DRUGS AT MBIA

St. George -- Two British nationals who appeared before the St. George's Magistrate Court on drug related charges on Monday 30th July, 2012 have been remanded to prison.

 

Nadine JONES, 31 years old and Simeon ARCHIBALD, a 35 year-old, photographer, were arrested and jointly charged for possession of and trafficking of a control drug.

 

The duo were arrested as they attempted to depart Maurice Bishop International Airport on a Virgin Atlantic flight to London, England with 1.3 kilos of Cocaine, concealed in their luggage, on Thursday 26th July, 2012 at about 5:00 p.m.

 

Jones and Archibald will make their second Court appearance on Friday 3rd August, 2012.

 

Meanwhile, Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 16 year old student who died on Sunday 29th July, 2012 after allegedly ingesting gramoxone.

 

The teenager, who is from Conference, St. Andrew reportedly drank the noxious substance sometime Saturday night; following which he was taken to the General Hospital, where he later died.

 

A post mortem is scheduled to be performed on the body.
