St. George -- Nygel Wilson, a 22 year old Police Constable was arrested and charged on Monday, May 14, 2012 by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department, St. George’s, for negligently causing grievous harm to Shinelle Phillip, a 25 year old businesswoman of D’Arbeau, St. George’s.
The incident occurred on Saturday May 12, 2012 on the Carenage, St. George when Shinelle Phillip was reportedly shot in her abdomen.
Wilson, a resident of Carriacou, was placed on $15,000.00 bail with one surety. He is due to make his first court appearance, at the St. George’s Magistrate Court on Tuesday August 14th, 2012.
In the meantime, Wilson was issued a letter of suspension, on Monday, May 14th 2012 by the office of the commissioner of Police, with half pay, pending the outcome of the case.
