THE CORRECT WAY TO ADDRESS A KNIGHT AND HIS SPOUSE

The qualification "doctor" is never used in conjunction with "Sir," since the knighthood takes priority.

A wife is addressed as Lady (surname of husband) and never Lady (her first name).

Please take note since the newly titled members of our society are not graced with this etiquette and embarrass the rest of the citizenry much like the faux pas "Whales" when referring to the British monarchy

CONGRATULATIONS TO GRENADA'S 2017 QUEEN'S YOUNG LEADER

St. George - Grenada's Michael Thomas, a member of GrenCHAP's board of directors, has been selected as one of the 60 Queen's Young Leaders for 2017 out of the thousands of young people throughout the commonwealth who applied. The award celebrates exceptional leaders within the ages of 18 to 29 years old striving to improve their communities through driving change on a wide range of issues including youth leadership and development.

Mr. Thomas is currently a Member and Chair of the Barbados and OECS Youth Advisory Group (YAG) which seeks to improve the lives of young people through access to age-appropriate, comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information and services.

TEN THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING A "DRONE" THIS CHRISTMAS

Montréal – The operation of unmanned aerial systems, informally known as "drones," can pose a serious threat to manned flights and people and property on the ground. In light of the growing popularity of the use of these devices for recreational purposes, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) launched a Toolkit on International Civil Aviation Day (7 December) to help keep communities safe. A YouTube video has also been released. Anybody considering offering a drone as a gift, or who has received one and intends on using it, should first consult the UAS Toolkit on ICAO's website.

TWO QUAKES RATTLE NERVES IN GRENADA

St. George -- The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA), has received preliminary reports from the Seismic Research Centre, at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, on Tuesday, of two earthquakes which occurred twenty minutes apart. A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 5:43 p.m., followed by a magnitude 3.9 earthquake at 6:02 p.m.
