FAE ELLINGTON GUEST SPEAKER AT THIS YEAR'S MEDIA AWARDS

St. George -- Veteran journalist and Communication Consultant Fae Ellington will deliver the keynote address at the 7th annual media awards ceremony carded for Sunday December 2nd at the Trade Centre.  MWAG will be staging the awards to celebrate the work of media workers with support from platinum partner DIGICEL, "the bigger better network."

 

Ellington is a Jamaican media personality and lecturer best known for hosting the television series, "Morning Time" on JBC for over twelve years.  She also served as one of the main news anchors on Jamaican radio and television for decades.

 

Ellington is also a lecturer at the Caribbean Institute of Mass Communication and has been involved in training and guiding the development of many media practitioners throughout the Caribbean -- including several in Grenada.

IPI CELEBRATES FIRST SUCCESS OF CARIBBEAN CAMPAIGN, URGES FURTHER REPEAL OF SEDITIOUS LIBEL

VIENNA – The International Press Institute (IPI) today warmly congratulated Grenada on becoming the first Caribbean state to decriminalise defamation, but urged the Grenadian government to further abolish seditious libel.
