JOSH BERKELEY, GRENADA'S 2010 GRENADA BEST TALENT WINNER, SHOOTS TO #4 ON THE TEMPO CROSS CARIBBEAN COUNTDOWN
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA (29 August 2011) – 19 year-old Josh Berkeley's first music video, featuring his first, original R&B song, "Never Meant," has been sneaking up the charts on the well-known TEMPO Cross Caribbean Countdown for the past three weeks. Starting out at position #8 during the week of August 11, he moved to position #7 during the week of August 18 and most recently shot to position #4 during the week of August 25.
At his current position, the Metronome Records recording artiste is now more requested than other well-established artistes such as Rihanna, Gramps Morgan, Them Island Boys, Daddy Yankee, Kymani Marley and more. Ahead of him, from position #1 to #3, are Vybz Kartel, Nicki Minaj and Shaggy.
Given this, it is not premature to say that Josh Berkeley and Metronome Records are definitely doing something right.
"It's a great a privilege for me to have my name mentioned among artists such as Rihanna and Nikki Minaj. I hope that I can live up to that expectation,” said Berkeley. “I would like to thank my producers, family, friends, and fans.”
The director of the video, Mr. Darryl Friday, said that he was very pleased with the results. "It gives us incentive to work that much harder and to reach even larger audiences. We're hard at work, coming up with new material for audiences around the Caribbean.”
Producer and co-writer Mr. Dwayne "Adigun" Celestine is pleased with the production value of the song and hinted at more projects to come. “We have many more surprises in store from both myself and Josh."
Gaining acceptance across the Caribbean, after submitting their first music video to TEMPO networks, is definitely an amazing achievement for both the artiste and his management company. General Manager of Metronome Records, Mr. Nima Anvar said, "It just proves that when we combine great talent with proper organization we can do great things for Grenada.
