SANDMINING IS STILL ILLEGAL!!!

Sand mining has been illegal in Grenada for several years and people have been prosecuted and sentenced by the Courts for this offence.  The present administration has designated some beaches as places where sand can be removed legally -- one beach in St David and other small areas where the removal of sand allows for better thoroughfare for water from various river outlets and drains, such as the one in Mt Craven.

2016 REPORT ON RECEIPT AND DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES FROM GRENADA CULTURAL ASSOCIATION (GCA) OF SOUTH FLORIDA

The relationship between Grenada Community Development Agency (GRENCODA) and the Grenada Cultural Association (GCA) of South Florida has its genesis through Ms. Elizabeth Allick whose first contact with the agency was made in June 2014. Ms Allick had some knowledge of the agency's Student Assistant Programme (SAP) and felt that GCA could lend some support by way of school supplies to students through this programme.

OUR CONSTITUTION REFORM: GENUINE ACT OR "RACHIFI"?

We have captioned this article with this Caribbean word "rachifi", specifically to highlight the significant role it plays in our society and to show its connection with politics and demagogy. The word has many synonyms in proper English, namely: underhandedness, skulduggery, trickery, crafty deception and deceitful, dishonest or unscrupulous behaviour.

As we move into the final countdown towards a clearly anti-democratic and highly partisanized Constitution Reform, our caption bears greater relevance. Therefore, it is essential that we leave a historical reference to some tough questions before the probable consummation of a "Constitutional Coup d'├ętat" scheduled for November 24th 2016.
