NEGATIVE INTEREFERENCE ON THE BELAIR-BELVEDERE ROAD PROJECT

Hillsborough, Carriacou -The Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs is seeking answers for the destruction of materials on the Belair- Belvedere Road Project.

Work on the road which began in 2011 resumed last week and upon arrival on the jobsite after preparation for the pouring of concrete was done, workers noticed that several pieces of board had been destroyed.

Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs Senator George Prime visited the job site along with Officer in Charge of the Carriacou Police Station, ASP Sebastian Mitchell to try and determine what had happened.

Minister Prime described this as an act of vandalism; however he said this will not stop the Government in continuing the road development in the twin isle parish.

He said this calls for the setting up of community watchdogs to prevent this happening in other communities.

Meanwhile the Community Development Division recently completed 300ft of concrete pavement and drains in the Bellevue South area.
