SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL GSA INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE NOW COMPLETED!
St. George — The Grenada Sailing Association (GSA) proudly announces the successful completion of the inaugural GSA Instructor Training Course. With support from the Minister for Sport, the Hon. Emmalin Pierre and Permanent Secretary Mrs Veda Bruno-Victor and the Grenada Olympic Association, the GSA developed the course to complement the new Community Sports Programme initiative of the Ministry of Sport, and the Junior Sailing Programme.
The GSA arranged for the internationally qualified coach, Earl Tobias to conduct the Course. Tobias, who is also Head Coach & Chief Instructor of the Trinidad & Tobago Sailing Academy, trained the young Grenadian instructors recently at the Grenada Yacht Club. The participants in the course were selected from all over Grenada and Carriacou and were thrilled to participate in this fantastic opportunity.
Tobias was quoted as saying, “I was really impressed by the enthusiasm of all the students on the course – it was a pleasure working with them and passing on knowledge to fellow instructors and helping with the development of sailing for the wider region. I look forward to a continued relationship between T&T Sailing Association and the Grenada Sailing Association and am very excited for future events between our two countries.”
This course was made possible with the generous donations from the following organisations:
· Grenada Olympic Committee
· Camper & Nicholson’s Port Louis Marina
· Grenada Yacht Club
· Budget Marine
· Island Dreams
· Island Water World
· Horizon Yacht Charters
The GSA has also said special thanks to Mr James Benoit, President of Grenada Sailing Association, Frank Pearce Vice President and Grenada Yacht Club for the use of the facility.
